Elly Kleinman Americare Companies is a nation-known, privately-held company active at the home health care scene in New York. It was started in late 80's with the backing and support of Elly Kleinman, whose leadership was troubled by the lack of a central resource for elderly people in need of home health care in New York. Today, after 30 years of active involvement in providing various aides, there is quite a lot of information already available on Elly Kleinman’s Americare Companies. However, on a national level, the organization did not have a resource center allocated in order to provide information that impacts residents of other states. While New York has many medical centers and nursing homes that provide treatment to elderly people, a home health care agency certified in treating patients with a behavioral health diagnosis was not available to until in 2010 a special sub-division of Americare was opened in Brooklyn. The next year Elly Kleinman announced that Americare's sub-division is starting a special protocol in treating patients that suffer from dementia, depression and anxiety disorders. The mission of the Elly Kleinman and his Americare Companies is to enhance and empower the lives of the elderly with a need for special care at their homes but also provide advocacy, education, and research. Another focus of the company is to connect resources to each and every person with such needs. “Americare wants to make sure that senior citizens are receiving the proper attendant care”. – This is was and still is the main goal of Elly Kleinman. The company has many popular programs, that are designed specifically for seniors that may be eligible for a stay in an assisted living facility or nursing home but would rather receive personal care at home instead.
