Aurora University

Transformation is the word that best summarizes Aurora University. With a commitment to teaching traditional as well as non-traditional students through innovative methods, Aurora also displays its commitment to transformation through its service work throughout the community. Located in Aurora, Illinois, Aurora offers approximately 40 undergraduate degrees as well as about 10 master’s degrees. These are granted through one of Aurora’s colleges, which include the college of arts and sciences, the college of business, the college of education, the college of professional studies, the college of nursing and the college of social work. One of its more innovative programs is the one designed for adult learners, which allows students to get their second bachelor’s degree in as little as a year and a half. All Aurora Faculty use creative teaching methods so that students may perceive material in new and exciting ways. Since class sizes are small, it’s also easy for students to have more one-on-one time with their instructors. Committed to civic service, Aurora offers many opportunities for students to help within the community. This is most clearly seen in the activities of the Institute for Collaboration, which is designed for students in such fields as nursing, education and social work. Through the Institute, students use their skills in their particular field to improve the lives of those within the community. Aurora’s student organizations include service, musical, religious, literary and academic clubs as well as athletic teams. Residential housing, personal, academic and career counseling, health services, and financial aid are all offered at Aurora.
