Austin Community College (ACC) in South Austin, Texas, is Austin’s leading two-year college. The school’s academics, services and student activities are as diverse and plentiful as the goals of the student body. Those who are interested in moving on to University of Texas or another four-year school may pursue a preparatory associate’s degree in subjects like: * Anthropology * Art * Creative Writing * General Studies * History * Latin * Religion Students who are seeking a career-focused education may get an associate’s degree or certificate in professions like: * Automotive Technology * Culinary Arts * Dental Hygiene * Fire Protection Technology * Jewelry * Legal Assisting * Nursing * Real Estate At every phase of their education, students may seek out support from career and personal counselors, academic advisors and tutors. All of ACC’s campuses offer scholarships to outstanding students in particular majors. They also provide need-based aid grants, loans and work-study money. Most of ACC’s programs of study have an open admissions policy, which means that students need only have a high school diploma or GED. Certain fields, like healthcare, have additional requirements.
