Bosch Engineering develops solutions for electronics systems in passenger cars, commercial vehicles, off-highway, powersports, industry, marine, and rail applications. It offers solutions in the areas of powertrain and power electronics; energy and battery management; E/E-systems and control units; vehicle dynamics, chassis, and braking systems; infotainment, human machine interface, and display instruments; and concept vehicles, prototypes, and demonstration models. Bosch Engineering also provides consulting services in the areas of quality management methods, project management, development processes, business processes, software engineering, and open source software management; testing services; and component development services, such as analysis of component suitability, modification of existing components, development of new components, industrialization, and samples and small series. In addition, it offers functional safety services, including safety evaluation, safety development, safety consulting, and safety requirements for rail vehicles; training courses in the areas of diesel engine technology, gasoline engine technology, hybrid systems and electric drive, powertrain technology, vehicle networking, and functional safety; and technical services, which include engine power certification, emission and OBD certification, fuel consumption certification, and diesel smoke certification. ASSET Automotive Systems und Engineering Technology that began operation in 1999 became Bosch Engineering in 2003, with its headquarters in Abstatt in Germany with project offices in Braunschweig, Ingolstadt, and Weissach and locations in Vienna in Austria, Paris (Saint Ouen) in France, Coventry in the United Kingdom, Torino in Italy, Yokohama in Japan, Shanghai in China, Curitiba and Campinas in Brazil, Novi in Michigan, and Palo Alto in California. Bosch Engineering operates as a subsidiary of Robert Bosch.
