British Film Institute

British Film Institute is a charity governed by a Royal Charter combining cultural, creative and industrial roles, and bringing together the BFI National Archive and BFI Reuben Library, film distribution, exhibition and education at BFI Southbank and BFI IMAX, and publishing and festivals. It is an organization for film in the U.K. British Film Institute provides lottery funding for training and education through partners such as Skillset and First Light and it has strategic partnerships for film across the devolved nations and funding in the English regions. The organization is responsible for U.K. film certification, which is the gateway to the U.K. film tax credit, for the MEDIA Desk U.K., and for promoting British film and talent internationally. The BFI was founded in 1933.
