Conax AS supplies conditional access solutions for major satellite, cable, terrestrial, MMDS, and IPTV networks. The company's products include conditional access system (CAS) Core that supports subscription mode granting consumer access to services for a fixed time period; and CAS Extended, which adds optional components to support an extended service offering for operations and business models. Its products also include DVB over IP that is designed for use in IPTV operations where transport streams are the carriers for transmission of the audio/video signals; and license and support agreement, which regulates relation for license and support associated with delivery of the system and subsequent system component deliveries. In addition, the company's products include an operation agreement for operations where the company takes responsibility for the establishment, maintenance, and operation of CA system. Its solutions include digital multimedia broadcasting, a digital radio transmission system for sending multimedia to mobile devices, such as mobile phones; digital rights management, a system to protect and deliver content by subscription or individual request for playback on a computer, portable device, or network device; and subscriber management system, which keeps control of subscriber details. The company's solutions also include electronic program guide that provides on-screen information about scheduled television programs; and XVOD, a video on-demand system. The company was established as a spin-off from Telenor R&D. Conax AS was formerly known as Telenor Conax. The company was founded in 1994 and is based in Oslo, Norway with sales and support offices in the Russian Federation, Singapore, China, South Korea, Brazil, and Canada.
