Cowley College

Cowley County Community College is a primary source of academic and vocational education in Arkansas City, Kansas, and neighboring areas. Its programs of study are assembled within career clusters on the Cowley website so that students may investigate possible areas of study within their field of interest. Within the Agriculture cluster, for example, listed majors are Agriculture and Agribusiness. Under The Arts there is Music and Theatre, within the Business cluster there are such majors as Business Administration, Legal Office Assisting and Hotel and Restaurant Management and within the Healthcare cluster are Medical Coding and Nursing and others. Additional clusters include: *Computer Science *Engineering *English *Mass Communications *Social Sciences Arts, media, recreational and religious clubs give students an opportunity to explore additional interests outside of class. Those seeking admission will need a high school diploma or GED. After applicants submit their online application, a school representative will arrange for any necessary placement tests usually used for Math and English placement. Financial aid is awarded to degree or certificate-seeking students who are citizens or eligible nationals. In order to receive federal aid, one must not be in default on a student loan. Work-study awards as well as Pell grants and SEOG grants are awarded based on financial need. Additionally, students may apply for federal loans and institutional scholarships.
