Emory & Henry College

Dynamic arts programs, professional degrees and a strong commitment to community service are some of what you will find at Emory and Henry College in Emory, Virginia. A four-year Methodist college, Emory and Henry’s academics encompass the Liberal Arts and Sciences, with degrees offered in fields like Biology, English, Geography, Languages, Philosophy and Religion. However, Emory and Henry goes one step further by offering professional degrees in such fields as Athletic Training, Business Administration, Education, and Public Policy. Emory and Henry also grants several pre-professional opportunities such as Pre-Engineering, Pre-Law and Pre-Medical. Arts programs are also a significant part of the Emory and Henry educational experience. With degrees offered in art, music and theatre, the arts are not simply academic majors at Emory and Henry. The visual arts department features several student as well as professional art galleries which exhibit world-renowned artists, while the performing arts divisions host performances by acclaimed theatre, music and dance ensembles while also providing opportunities for students to perform. There is also a student-operated radio station and newspaper. Service is also a significant component of the Emory and Henry experience. In addition to having service-oriented student organizations and various community service activities, Emory and Henry grants scholarships to a select number of students who demonstrate a high level of service. Additional scholarships, loans and grants are also available to qualifying students. Freshman admission is based on one’s academic record, test scores, recommendations and participation in extracurricular and service activities.
