Golden West College

Golden West College is a great starting point for Orange County, California residents who wish to transfer to a four-year university or start a career at a reasonable cost. Located in beautiful Huntington Beach, Golden West College is part of the California community college system and, therefore, has transfer agreements with all of the UC and Cal State Universities. Students interested in transferring to a four-year university may obtain degrees in everything from Psychology to Theatre to Vietnamese languages. Golden West also has degree and certificate programs for those who wish to dive directly into the workforce. Some of these vocational options include Cosmetology, Business, Nursing, Criminal Justice, and Floral Design. Transfer fairs, which feature representatives from California universities and individual counseling on career planning, are some of the services available to Golden West students. A dozen academic counselors, each of whom specializes in different subject-areas may also help guide you in your educational plans. Disability, vocational rehabilitation and health center services are available as well. Financial aid may be granted to eligible students to cover tuition or other fees. Financial aid sources include the Cal Grant, scholarships, fee waivers and loans.
