Together with the Penn State Hershey Medical Center, the College of Medicine combines academics and advances in modern technology to best educate its students and healthcare professionals, and to serve its patients. The types of degrees offered at the college include: * Biomedical Sciences * Homeland Security (Public Health Preparedness) * Immunology and Infectious Diseases * Laboratory Animal Medicine * MD/PhD * Molecular Medicine Non-degree programs are offered as well, such as Academic Placements (K-16), Clinical Fellowships, Postdoctoral and Residency Programs, and Summer Programs. Continuing education classes are also provided. Some coursework is available online, and most programs are inclusive of intensive lab work. College life consists of a host of activities that students can get involved in offsite or onsite through on-campus housing. Athletic and recreational activities, community outreach, and a diverse selection of clubs and organizations are all available. Prospective students must have taken certain courses, and completed the MCAT, to be considered for admissions to PSU. Additionally, financial aid applications must be submitted in order to request assistance with tuition costs.
