Intralink is an international business development consultancy specialising in East Asia. The company enables western companies to expand in Asia, and Asian companies to expand in the West. It has been operating since 1990 and, as of 2019, had 80 multi-lingual employees and offices in China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, America and the UK. Its stated mission is to make companies’ international expansion fast, easy and cost-effective. Intralink runs sales and licensing programmes for its clients as well as undertaking market assessments, brokering channel partnerships, raising capital and dealing with intellectual property issues. The company is different from other consultancies as it does not only develop market expansion strategies but plays a hands-on role in their execution for clients, closing deals and generating revenues. Intralink also helps clients set up their own in-country presence through a local subsidiary, partnership or acquisition. Intralink’s clients range from start-ups to multinationals in the automotive, energy, healthcare, retail, telecoms and other high-growth sectors. The firm also works with governments and economic development agencies to promote exports and attract foreign direct investment. The company won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2018.
