Ldc

LDC SA is a France-based holding company engaged in food processing. We believe in a long-term strategic vision. It needs to be pragmatic and responsive. This because our interest is the same than any actor of our sector, farmers, suppliers, employees, customers and consumers. LDC was born in 1968 from the merger of families Lambert, Dodard and Chancereul. This same year, the S.A. LAMBERT, located in Sablé-sur-Sarthe (Sarthe), has indeed merged with the S.A. DODARD CHANCEREUL, based in Saint-Denis d’Anjou (Mayenne). These two local companies were running a common activity of poultry slaughtering in complementary geographies. Noting the consumption evolution and the appearance of retail distribution, this association allowed the new entity composed of 90 people to grow and conduct emerging consumer needs. From this day, its activity continued to evolve over the years to poultry cuts, further processed poultry products and then to the convenience market. Two other families then join the Group: in 1989, the Guillet family comes to enforce LDC’s activity by opening it to additional geographic areas (the firm was implanted in Daumeray, Maine et Loire); and, in 2001, the arrival of the Huttepain family enables the LDC Group to get an upstream division and be present in the integrated poultry production, animal feed and eggs. About forty years later, the LDC Group is counting 16 000 employees and 62 production sites with a turnover reaching € 3 billion. This growth has been largely made through regular buyouts and the acquisition of existing brands. We get from these external operations real wealth. Each acquisition is the opportunity to make rich encounters, opening the Group to new ideas. Each of them is also leading us to question ourselves and stay humble. This is thanks to each firm which joined the Group, and to men and women who are composing it that the Group LDC became the French leader of the poultry market and second actor in the convenience market.
