The Los Angeles County School of Nursing in Los Angeles, California is one of the most well-established and respected clinical nurse training programs in the state of California. Well over 100 years old, L.A. County’s program works in collaboration with University of Southern California’s medical center, where students work in clinical situations while training. Since students work at the USC facility as well as other county hospital facilities, they have the chance to care for patients who are often in great need and from diverse populations. Through training at these facilities, students also get the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment. In addition to its nursing degree, L.A. County provides continuing education training for practicing nurses and programs in Allied Health. Financial aid is available to eligible students through loans, grants and other sources.
