We do this by using smart technology to shift a lot of the workload from humans onto computers. MerlinOne was founded in 1988 to make the Phoenix image transmission system. We evolved with the analog-to-digital transition in the news industry and saw the need to manage and store the increasing amount of digital content that was being sent. After intensive research and development, we installed our first Merlin digital image archive in 1994.
