Philander Smith College

A historically African-American school, Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas is committed to providing an intimate undergraduate learning experience that embodies the school’s vision of social justice. Majors available at Philander Smith include: * Accounting * Education * Music * Philosophy and Religion * Social Work In recent years, Philander Smith has also introduced a social justice theme across all disciplines and has even established its on-campus Center for Social Justice, which is responsible for introducing social justice ideas and activities to the campus and local communities. Philander Smith’s Bless the Mic Lecture Series, another social justice themed activity, is designed for both students and the community. Additional student life offerings include religious activities and a number of student services, such as tutoring and career development. Prospective Philander Smith students will need to submit transcripts and SAT or ACT scores for admissions consideration. Scholarships, work-study and loans are some of the financial aid sources available to qualifying students.
