Riverside City College

For residents of Riverside, California, Riverside Community College (RCC) is a great place to begin your educational journey, with RCC’s numerous academic, extracurricular and arts offerings. Located only an hour from downtown Los Angeles, just east of Anaheim, RCC’s campus offers a beautiful, enclosed setting not far from urban stimulation. Riverside Community College provides its many students with a wide range of choices, which include numerous associate’s degrees and career certificates that can lead directly to a career or to four-year university transfer. Some of the more notable programs of study at RCC include their school of nursing and their programs in liberal arts and sciences. Students may also study everything from Banking to Business to Film Studies to Speech Communications. Another of its stronger programs is the Performing Arts Division. Performing arts students participate in theatrical and dance performances as well as master classes and national festivals. Many Riverside Community College students transfer to the University of California Riverside, or other UC schools such as UCLA. Since RCC has transfer agreements with all California state schools, many students also transfer to Cal State schools. Other programs that RCC offers are the Young At Heart program, for senior citizens, as well as non-credit courses for personal enrichment. Online tutoring, mental health counseling and career services are some of the supports available for all RCC students. Since many students apply for financial aid, RCC has an informative Financial Aid TV program on its website. They also offer individual counseling to help students apply and prepare for aid. Some forms of aid available include grants, loans and scholarships.
