At SafetiPin, it is Their belief that safety will improve if communities and neighborhoods engage regularly on issues around safety. They also believe that quantification of safety will help in this direction. They believe that if there is a score, then a community or neighborhood can work to improve it and see change. They were fortunate to have an exceptional advisory board that provided us with comments, experience and ideas to make the rubric a strong and precise tool. They build on the knowledge that the safety audit is a valuable tool in supporting individuals and groups to collect strategic safety data to understand the environment better and advocate for change.
