Academic excellence and student success are the focus at St. Andrews University (formerly St. Andrews Presbyterian College), a private, four-year, church-related institution in Laurinburg, North Carolina, that offers a variety of undergraduate liberal arts and science academics and pre-professional programs. The school is located only two hours from major metropolitan areas, beautiful beaches and stunning mountain ranges, allowing students many resources for leisure outside of the classroom. On campus, students have easy access to organizations based on everything from academics to fun hobbies, including the nationally recognized Writers’ Forum. Many social activities like pumpkin carving contests and formal dances provide students with numerous student life opportunities. The college provides tutorials for its academics. Whether you’re pursuing a degree in Creative Writing, Chemistry or Psychology or engaging in pre-professional studies, the college has faculty members, teachers and fellow students who are willing to personally mentor your progress. Incoming students may apply by completing an application and submitting a high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores. Students accepted by the priority admissions deadline of March 1 will automatically be considered for a variety of academic scholarships provided by St. Andrew based on ACT/SAT scores, extracurricular involvement, individual factors and recommendations. All students may apply for financial aid by filing a FAFSA. Forms of aid include federal grants, loans and tuition payment plans.
