It matches every pair of shoes purchased with a new pair of shoes for a child in need, which is given through humanitarian organizations who incorporate shoes into their community development programs. It also operates other divisions to help people in need, which includes TOMS Eyewear: provides 13 countries with prescription glasses, medical treatment, sight-saving surgery for each purchase of eyewear since its launch in 2011; TOMS Roasting Co.: provides people in 6 countries with 140 liters of safe water for each purchase of its coffee products since 2014; and TOMS Bag Collection: provides training for skilled birth attendants and distributes birth kits containing items that help a woman safely deliver her baby in 4 countries. TOMS Shoes was founded in 2006 by Blake Mycoskie and is based in Los Angeles, California.
