Universidade Católica de Pelotas develops research and extension activities. In addition to offering undergraduate courses in Pelotas, UCPel has a unit in the municipality of Santa Vitória do Palmar and postgraduate courses in Rio Grande and Piratini. UCPel has a tradition in training human beings, ethical and competent professionals. Its trajectory is marked by the relationship with the community and a constantly improving infrastructure to support the actions developed in the various areas of knowledge. It is structured by large areas: Life and Health Sciences Center; Center for Legal, Economic and Social Sciences; Polytechnic Center and Center for Education and Communication, in addition to the Higher Institute of Philosophy, the Higher Institute of Religious Culture and the Higher Institute of Theology Paul VI.
