The University of León was formally opened in 1979, although some of its centers have their origins more than 150 years ago. Its educational offer is divided into its two campuses: the Vegazana campus, the most important since most of the centers and degrees are located on it, is located on the outskirts of the city of León, the other campus is that of Ponferrada, located in the city of the same name. The University of León offers a large number of degrees distributed in fifty different areas. Being a young institution has modern facilities and advanced technological equipment. It is committed to the comprehensive training of students so that apart from university degrees, multiple services are provided as support for the pursuit of employment, complementary training and personal projection of young people. Research is one of the values ​​of the ULE, so important efforts and much of the resources are devoted to this matter. The research structure is organized around university departments, researchers, research groups, institutes, research services and technology centers.
