The goal of the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado, is to shape students into intelligent, mature adults who will succeed both personally and professionally while contributing to the community. Student life is an active, intellectual culture. Both undergraduate and graduate students have access to a wide range of student clubs and organizations, from Greek life fraternities and sororities to faith-based groups to the Alpine Club, which organizes outdoor trips each year. Academics are offered in a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees. Some undergraduate degree programs include fields like art, business, international studies, natural sciences and many more. Graduate programs are offered in more than 120 degrees, including Art History, Business Intelligence, Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and more. Study abroad programs are available through the Cherrington Global Scholars program, which integrates abroad programs into your major and even pays for transportation. Admissions are determined by an applicant’s GPA, academic achievements, standardized test scores, overall character and Hyde interview, which is a meeting with one to three members of the University of Denver community. Students who complete a FAFSA will be considered to receive financial aid. The university offers merit-based scholarships to students with competitive GPAs and standardized test scores. Other forms of financial aid include grants, loans, work study programs and need-based scholarships.
