Students seeking an educational experience at one of the nation's leading osteopathic medical schools should look into the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. There you'll gain the skills to enter the health care workforce and help reduce the shortage of physicians in many Texas communities. The school offers these programs: * Graduate Medical Education in a geriatrics-internal medicine fellowship, a palliative medicine fellowship, and two dermatology residency programs * Rural Medical Education (through the Office of Rural Medical Education) * Texas OPTI (osteopathic doctoral training) All programs utilize a problem-focused, application-oriented curriculum, designed to equip students with necessary skills through hands-on application. The school's goal is to provide an education that students acquire, understand, and then apply. An Advisory College Program is offered, which is a mentoring network that encourages greater interaction between faculty members and students. The program is set up as a learning community where faculty facilitates curricular and co-curricular events for medical students to develop skills necessary to be future physicians.
