West Shore Community College

Located in Scottville, Michigan, West Shore Community College offers quality educational opportunities for students seeking vocational training and a solid academic foundation. Students can choose from four academic areas of study to pursue an associate’s degree. The following four academic schools have several concentrations of study: *Humanities/Fine Arts *Communications *Math/Science *Social Science Students who wish to transfer to a four-year university are also offered an associate’s track in general studies. Vocational training is offered in almost 20 fields, including Practical Nursing, Paramedic Studies, and Mechanical Systems. Students are offered classroom instruction and hands-on training in order to prepare themselves for a new, exciting career. Students are encouraged to get involved in student life activities, such as organizations and student government. For students interested in writing and journalism, introductory and advanced classes are offered for students looking to participate in college journalism. West Shore also offers performing arts opportunities for those interested in theater, as well as volunteer service opportunities for all students. Student support services are available, including academic workshops and financial aid advising. Eligible students enrolled at West Shore can receive financial aid to help with tuition.
