Non-credit continuing education courses train students for such occupations as: * Arborist * Emergency Medical Technician * Massage Therapist * Pharmacy Technician * Real Estate Wilkes students may also receive an Associate of Arts degree, which fulfills all of the general education requirements for a four-year degree. Students on this track usually transfer to a four-year college or university like the University of North Carolina. Wilkes provides comprehensive financial aid, which includes need-based federal and institutional grants and loans. Wilkes also awards need-based and academic scholarships. Finally, through the Pathways to Employment program, unemployed or underemployed students receiving short-term career certification may qualify for a complete tuition waiver. Wilkes has an open admissions policy, which means that anyone who is at least 18 years old and has a high school diploma or GED may enroll. Submission of an application and transcripts are required of all applicants. All entering students must also take a placement exam.
